Our spacious Chambre d’Hôte combines period charm with contemporary comfort, featuring soft green and grey tones inspired by colonial styling. Independently accessed, it allows complete privacy while still sitting at the heart of our beautifully restored 18th-century home.

Inside, you’ll find a king-sized bed dressed with quality linens and topped with an elegant mosquito net, along with rattan armchairs that are perfect for relaxing  and unwinding. The compact, modern en-suite shower room is neatly finished and offers everything needed for a refreshing stay. A dedicated work desk is available to business travellers, supported by free, high-speed fibre Wi-Fi.

Large terrace doors open to your private outdoor space, with inviting garden views and traditional shutters offer light control and help keep the room cool in summer. Guests may enjoy the shared pool and wander around the gardens or spend a peaceful moment visiting the horses.

The room includes a Nespresso machine and kettle with a selection of pods and teas, a Smart TV with complimentary access to our Netflix and Prime streaming services, and French channelsm all via a Firestick. All bed linen, towels (including pool towels), toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. A chiller fridge can be supplied on request.

Babies are welcome on request, and a cot and changing mat are available. Please note that the room is not ideal for independently mobile toddlers.

For those needing additional space, our three-bedroom gîte is available separately or alongside the Chambre d’Hôte when dates align.

Just a few minutes from Fontenay-le-Comte, our location is easily reached via the A83 or N10. Nearby airports and major rail links at La Rochelle, Niort, La Roche-sur-Yon and Nantes make travelling to the area effortless, and Fontenay itself offers regular bus connections to surrounding towns.

Auchay-sur-Vendée is a charming commune comprising two villages, Auzay — our home — and Chaix. Perched on the crest of a valley, the setting affords sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and is enveloped by serene, unspoilt countryside.

This corner of the southern Vendée forms part of the Pays de la Loire region and enjoys a delightful microclimate similar to that of the Charente-Maritime. Long, warm summers often extend well into the autumn, refreshed by gentle breezes on the hottest days. Winters are pleasantly mild, while spring brings soft sunshine and welcome showers that help the countryside burst back into life.

Our Chambre d'Hote is open all year round. Please feel free to contact us with any enquiries before making a booking. If you are looking for accomodation for a larger group, why not look at our gite - you could rent the 2 properties together if needed, subject to availability!

We offer a variety of seasonal rates for our Chambre d’Hôte and are delighted to welcome guests for a single night, with the exception of the Christmas and New Year period, when a minimum stay of two nights normally applies.
