Elegant Interiors

Set across two floors, the gîte features bright, airy bedrooms with spacious en-suite shower rooms, TVs, and generous hanging space. A striking reclaimed oak staircase leads to the open-plan lounge and kitchen, where modern appliances, a dishwasher, and washing machine make everyday life effortless. The third bedroom features a luxurious Italian shower, and the ground floor is fully wheelchair accessible, ensuring everyone feels welcome and relaxed.

Outdoor Bliss

Step out onto your private terrace, complete with garden furniture, a parasol, and a BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining or evening drinks. Wander through the landscaped gardens, take a refreshing dip in the shared heated pool (typically June–September), or spend quiet moments with our friendly horses and cats—a little slice of countryside magic just outside your door.

Comforts Designed for You

Our gîte sleeps six as standard with plush, padded headboards and additional sleeping arrangements are available (potential for ten gustes) via sofa beds. Soft linens, essential toiletries, and a selection of cleaning products ensure your stay is effortlessly comfortable. Electric heating throughout keeps the gîte warm and inviting throughout the cooler months.

Just a few minutes from Fontenay-le-Comte, our location is easily reached via the A83 or N10. Nearby airports and major rail links at La Rochelle, Niort, La Roche-sur-Yon and Nantes make travelling to the area effortless, and Fontenay itself offers regular bus connections to surrounding towns.

Auchay-sur-Vendée is a charming commune comprising two villages, Auzay — our home — and Chaix. Perched on the crest of a valley, the setting affords sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and is enveloped by serene, unspoilt countryside.

This corner of the southern Vendée forms part of the Pays de la Loire region and enjoys a delightful microclimate similar to that of the Charente-Maritime. Long, warm summers often extend well into the autumn, refreshed by gentle breezes on the hottest days. Winters are pleasantly mild, while spring brings soft sunshine and welcome showers that help the countryside burst back into life.

Our gîte is open throughout the year, with electric heating ensuring comfort during the cooler months. We are always delighted to assist with any enquiries before you book, and if you need a little extra space, our Chambre d’Hôte may be the perfect addition for your stay. We can occasionally offer greater flexibility with dates, so please do ask if you cannot find the availability you need.

We offer a range of seasonal rates, with a standard minimum stay of three nights outside the high season. For a shorter escape, our weekend break—Friday and Saturday nights—provides the perfect opportunity to unwind.

Please note that Christmas and New Year periods may have their own minimum night requirements.
